Oscars 2011 Results
Okay so I didn't do amazing when it came to my Oscar picks but hey, I did get five out of my 12. Which, all things considering, isn't a bad score!
After watching the pre-show and the awards all the way through, I have to say that this year wasn't exactly stellar in my books. Although I love both Anne Hathaway and James Franco, I really just didn't get the chemistry. Hathway was overly zealous most of the night while James was relax and laid back (could that be due to a certain drug, that's for you to judge). There was definitely some good laughs though and while it wasn't the best Academy Awards I've seen, it could have definitely been worse.
So in a nutshell INCEPTION won an incredible four awards including Achievement in Cinematography and Sound editing. THE KING'S SPEECH won three awards, top being BEST PICTURE. When it came to THE SOCIAL NETWORK, they walked away with three awards which included Best Adapted Screenplay and Original Score. Other winners include ALICE IN WONDERLAND with Costume Design and Art Direction, NATALIE PORTMAN for Best Actress, COLIN FIRTH for Best Actor, and INSIDE JOB for Best Documentary Feature. I have to say that although I'm not much into fashion (aka, I have no fashion sense whatsoever) all the stars were beautifully dressed last night and it makes me want to dress like them! I have to say my two favourites would be Scarlett Johanson...She was classically dressed, chose a colour that suited her perfectly and it wasn't something you've seen on other celebrities! Halle Berry was stunning (as always), Mila Kunis was gorgeous in lavender, she really picked her dress (or her stylist did anyways) really well, and Natalie Portman was glowing in all her pregnany bliss! I'm sure her Oscar win for Best Actress in Black Swan also helped with that glow by the end of the night!
